Charting the Course for Whitefish Bay’s Future
The Whitefish Bay Visioning and Planning initiative is designed to update and refresh the District's current Focus Plan, taking into account the assets, challenges and culture of Whitefish Bay’s community. Historically, the development of a plan to establish goals and priorities, guide allocation of resources and establish benchmarks for improvement efforts has been an important priority for the District. The District's Focus Plan was developed in 2001 and it is time to update the Focus Plan in a way that will create a renewed vision for our schools. The District is committed to building upon our strengths as we move into the future. Our successes will not slow us down in our efforts to become yet an even better School District. We believe there is not a better time to renew and create our collective community vision around what we want for our students and schools.
Presently, preparations for the next cycle of planning are well underway:

A Visioning Team comprised of 32 individuals who represent staff, community, students, administrators and the Board of Education convened for the first time on March 16-17, 2011.

Fourteen focus groups comprised of 134 stakeholders (including staff, students, parents and community members) were held in late April/early May.

The Visioning Team reconvened on May 23-24, 2011 to develop an updated Focus Plan.

The Visioning Team reconvened at Cardinal Stritch University on December 12, 2011 to celebrate the recommended Plan.

An updated Focus Plan was approved by th Board of Education on January 11, 2012.
