In an effort to address urgent maintenance, security, technology and space needs, the community voted to move forward with the Educational Improvement Project.
DETAILS
The Educational Improvement Project addresses critical space issues and includes items such as:
- Adding cafeteriaa/multi-purpose rooms to the two elementary schools, so as to provide space for lunch and large gathering.
- Replacing the gym floor at the middle school to improve safety and usability.
- Creating new music room space at the high school.
- Remodeling vacated space in the high school to accommodate the increasing need for science and pre-engineering laboratory space, as well as for special education needs.
- Addressing immediate technology infrastructure needs.
- Relocating the middle school orchestra room from the basement to the second floor, to increase space and reduce moisture damage to instruments.
COSTS
The cost of this solution would be $13.6 million. Its total impact on property taxes would be approximately $250 per year, for an average home in our community, with an assessed value of $350,000. Click here for a costs breakdown.
