Dear Parents and Guardians,

If you will have a child turning four on or before September 1, 2010, making her/him eligible to attend our Junior Kindergarten program next fall, we are already planning for his/her arrival!

Our Junior Kindergarten program provides opportunities for your child to develop essential skills for later school success. And, it allows you to meet and create connections with families of other students, families you may have contact with throughout your child’s entire WhitefishBay school career.

Registration for Junior Kindergarten is being held on January 6th and 7th, 2010. For your convenience, registration forms are included so that you may complete them in advance. Starting January 6th, we will be accepting forms in our office, which is open between the hours of 7:30 and 4:00 daily. Milestones, a private before and after school child care company who leases space from us, will have a representative here during registration and they can be reached at 964.5545.

To complete the registration process we also need to see a copy of your child’s birth certificate and if this is your first child to enter the WhitefishBay school system, we also need proof of your residency. The documentation for this is a copy of your current lease, or a copy of your closing statement or property tax bill. You are welcome to black out amounts on the tax bill if you choose. We simply need to verify your address. We can copy any of these in the office when you bring them for registration. If you choose to register by mail, please send the forms along with copies of the birth certificate and proof of residency to our office.

Our health aides are available at 962.8050 to answer any questions you have regarding your child’s health records. In May, you will receive a letter regarding kindergarten screening which takes place in the summer. Included with this packet is a Kindergarten Eye Health Examination Report. This State of Wisconsin form is provided as a courtesy to you as an examination is not required. If you choose to have an exam, the doctor performing the exam can fill out the form.

We have a terrific school and I encourage you to send your child to Junior Kindergarten here in the fall of 2010.  If I can answer any questions please call my office at 963.3943 or e-mail me at jayne.heffron@wfbschools.com
I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to the CumberlandSchool community and I look forward to working with you and your family. If your child will not be attending our kindergarten program next year, we will appreciate you letting us know so we can remove your child from the list. If your child will be attending Cumberland, you will receive a letter early in the summer notifying you of your child’s assignment to a morning or afternoon Junior Kindergarten class.

Sincerely,
