BILL OF RIGHTS
We the people in fourth grade, in order to form a successful classroom, do establish a caring environment by insuring that all members are treated with respect and are willing to work together. We will provide an atmosphere where all people can grow in their own special ways, developing their own special talents. We will promote a variety of learning experiences which will secure a safe, happy learning place for all.
We have the right to help others when it’s needed; therefore, we have the responsibility to ask for help when needed.
We have the right to feel safe around other people at CumberlandSchool, knowing that all people understand the rules and guidelines of our school. Therefore, we have the responsibility of following and obeying these rules, and knowing the consequences for breaking them.
We have the right to learn in the best way possible, knowing what we will be doing when we’ll do it, and what materials are needed to accomplish the learning. Therefore, we have the responsibility of having our supplies ready for up-coming events and to be prepared to listen when the teacher begins.
We have the right to share our personal feelings, ideas and thoughts, knowing that our ideas will not be ridiculed; therefore, we have the responsibility to listen when others speak.
We have the right to use school supplies, know where they’re kept and know how to use them. Therefore, we have the responsibility to put them back in their appropriate places, keep them clean and notify teachers when supplies run out.
I agree to this Bill of Rights.
