Handbook

Welcome to Cumberland School! Working together with parents and the community, we strive to provide the best education possible to all students. Focusing on this goal unites us in purpose. In keeping with this ideal, the Whitefish Bay School Board has established the following Focus Plan Goals and Shared Commitments:

Ensure that every student:

  • Develops Effective Strategies for Continuous Learning
  • Presented with Multiple Options and Opportunities for Success
  • Experiences a Supportive Learning Environment
  • Is Prepared for the future

In Support of these goals all staff are committed to:

  • Provide Quality Feedback to Students
  • Increase Collaboration Focused on Student Learning
  • Nurture Student Engagement

Continued growth and improvement are important to us. We welcome parents’/guardians’ input and suggestions throughout the year. If you have a question or concern, please go directly to the person most closely associated with it first. If your question or concern relates to the classroom, start by talking with the teacher. IF you are unable to get the information or resolution needed, please call, drop me a note or email me so that we can problem solve together. Looking forward, we are always looking for volunteers for a myriad of things, from copying to reading with students. And, supervising the lunchroom or lunch recesses on the playground benefits you by giving you a window into your child’s world, increases our adult presence and even brings with it a small wage. Please call the office for any of these opportunities.

As we go through the year, please look to the Whitefish Bay School website www.wfbschools.com, to access many useful updates and items including a Cumberland link and the calendar. I look forward to working together in partnership with you during the coming year.
