Class Goals:

• Student brings necessary band equipment to rehearsals ( such as music, instrument, reeds, oil for brass)
• Student is focused, attentive and engaged in the lesson
• Student participates in group learning activities
  Note: grades in band are derived from student's achiecement of the above goals.

• Rhythm and counting skills
• Listening skills
• Cooperative learning
• Understanding of the procedures of rehearsals
• Rehearsing efficiently in an ensemble
• Performing with a mature tone
• Interpretation of music styles
• Identifying accurate pitch
• Basic sight reading proficiency
• Enjoy making music with other musicians

Concert Attire:

• Men: Black shoes, black socks, black pants, white shirt, dark tie 
• Ladies: Black dress, skirt or pants with black, gray or white top and black shoes
