Review Key
As you read the key, remember that other orders of solving or simplifying are also acceptable, as long as final results are the same and properties are used correctly. I tend to use the natural log (ln(x)) and you might use log base 10 (log(x)). answers should be compared using change of base formula.

We are tying ideas together with graphs, and today we learned about double roots and going forward and backwards with roots to factored and polynomial form. We also discussed the answers to last night's homework (included here). Homework will be posted separately.

We discussed the parent graphs and their domains. Your only homework is to really know these graphs well for a quiz Tuesday ....and to do so by making FLASHCARDS with the function written on one side, and the graph on the other side. (flashcards will be checked and are worth some points as well as the brief quiz on the graphs).

Friday Notes Compound Inequalities
We had a 30 point quiz today (makeup time is Monday at 11:25). We reviewed compound inequalities and learned interval notation (see attached notes). Homework for Monday is Worksheet 1.5.

Today we discussed 1.3 homework answers and then talked about properties. There is a 30 point quiz Friday on number sets, properties and solving/evaluating. Free On-line Graphing Calculator
The graphing calculator is a wonderful tool for learning and doing mathematics. If you do not have one on your home computer, you will want to download the free GraphCalc. From it, you can insert and print nice looking graphs and perform all the common operations of a TI-84.
