ANNOUNCEMENTS
7th Grade Camping Trip
Big thanks to our seventh grade teaching staff for providing our seventh graders with the winter camp experience. A HUGE thanks to our parent chaperones. We could not have done it without you!

Letter To 7th Grade Parents From Language Arts Teachers
Dear Parents,
The seventh grade language arts classes will begin studying the Holocaust. We will begin the unit with a brief historical background of this time period. Next, we will study the life and diary of Anne Frank through the ABC/Disney film, Anne Frank: The Whole Story, based on the biography by Melissa Mueller. Through Anne’s story, we will learn about what life was like for young people during this dark time.

Later, we will read Night by Elie Wiesel whose memoir takes us through his experiences in the concentration camps. Due to the emotional content and themes expressed in this book, we will be reading Wiesel’s memoir in class only. Most of the processing will happen through class activities; however, we encourage you to discuss the book’s content with your child.
If you have any questions about the unit, please feel free to contact your child’s language arts teacher.
Sincerely,
Cherie Andrus, Erik Drummond, Caitlin Etten, Patti Lynch, Nicole Serdynski

7th Grade Parents: Volunteers Needed!
The Seventh Grade Team is looking for help with the Electromagnetic Fishing Derby (our third activity day). The day consists of five rotations of hands on science labs and/or demos. We are looking for parents to help monitor students during a fish off, build small motors, separate water into hydrogen and oxygen, or work with models of alternative energy.   If you are interested please contact Lynn Short at Lcs53217@aol.com or 962-3474.

Bay United
Back by popular demand!
Bay United presents Milton Creagh Tuesday, March 16th at 7pm at the WFBHS Auditorium.
Milton will be presenting "Nobody Wants Your Child". Based on Milton's book by the same title, he looks at things parents do that make it difficult for their child to do well in adulthood: at work, in marriage, and in society in general. Milton will discuss the growing problem of lack of work ethic among the nation's youth and will provide a blue print to get kids on the right track for a successful life. His book "Nobody Wants Your Child" will be available for purchase following his
presentation.
