Students are welcome to go home for lunch; however, it is expected that a parent/adult will be supervising the students during this time at home. Students going home for lunch will be dismissed when the lunch period begins. They should go to the playground upon return to school and re-enter school with the children from the playground at the end of the lunch period. Students are expected to bring a note from their parent if they will be going home with another child for lunch. Students are not allowed to go to a restaurant, Klode Park, etc. during the lunch hour except with a parent or other adult. When students bring their lunches to school, it is expected that they will not leave the school grounds during the lunch hour.
Teachers/supervisors make every effort to monitor students' activity during the lunch period. Students are supervised as they leave the classroom/locker area at the start of the lunch period as well as in the lunchroom and on the playground. It is the responsibility of the parents to discuss noon hour plans with their children to be sure that students are aware of parents' expectations. We caution that this is especially important with young students. If your child will be doing something out of the ordinary during the lunch period, please send a note to the teacher.
