Parent Involvement
We value having parents and teachers work cooperatively as a team to enhance each child's learning and school experiences.  One of the most important meetings of the year will be the parent orientation meeting in your child's classroom; it's important for all families to attend these meeting.  In addition, many teachers enlist the help of parent volunteers for a variety of tasks and projects to be done either at school or at home.  Sign-up is provided for some of these activities at parent orientation in the fall.  The Richards School PTO is very active and sponsors school activities and events throughout the year with the help of parent volunteers; many of these opportunities are listed in the Recorder and Weekly Happenings.   In addition, the Richards School Parent-Teacher Leadership Team is composted of eight parents and eight teachers who work together each year to address school wide issues: input is welcome from all parents to enhance the work of this group.
