Fun Lunch is Tomorrow - Friday, January 26!
Fun Lunch tomorrow will be catered by Cousins Subs. Each participating student will receive a 5-inch sub or a salad in addition to a nut-free snack, a Rice Krispie Treat or Oreos, bottled water, and an apple.
**Don’t forget, CPK is continuing to generously offer a free meal to Richards students when they dine-in with their family! Students who participate in the Fun Lunch program will receive a free kid’s meal when THEIR family is dining. A raffle ticket will be given to each dining student for a chance to win an embroidered chef coat! Raffle tickets will be randomly selected and chef coats will be presented at Fun Lunch. Students that wear their chef coat to CPK will be allowed to make their own pizza! Please note: Only students dining with their families will be discounted and an adult entrée must be purchased for every kid’s meal. This offer is not valid with any other offers or discounts, and is not valid to groups or sports teams.**

Lego Club - Third Grade You're Up Next!
The registration deadline for third grade Lego Club is January 31, 2018. The third grade Lego Club dates are:
- February 7
- February 14
- February 21
- February 28
Lego Club is an extracurricular activity run by the Richards PTO. The club is open to students in grades K5 through 5th grade. Lego Club meets on Wednesday afternoons from 3:20 to 4:15 in Room 5. Students will be dismissed from their classrooms to Lego Club. Unless prior arrangements are made, parents are expected to pick their child up from Lego Club at 4:15.
Parent Volunteers are also still needed to help Lego Club run smoothly! Please consider volunteering your time. To sign up as a parent volunteer, please do so via Sign Up Genius - http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0d48a4a822a0fb6-richards.

Six Flags® Read to Succeed
The Richards PTO is excited to announce that all Richards students are invited to participate in the optional Six Flags® Read to Succeed Six Hour Reading Club!
- Read to Succeed is a free program sponsored by Six Flags Theme Parks that encourages elementary school aged students to read for fun.
- Every student who completes six hours of recreational reading before the school’s deadline (January 31, 2018 ) is eligible for a free admission ticket, valid at Six Flags Great America Theme Park in Gurnee, IL.
Don't forget to have your child keep track of their reading time on their log! If you did not receive or misplaced your reading log or would like more information, visit the PTO website or see the links below.
Box Tops
A special classroom box tops collection is happening right now and will be running through February, so keep clipping and turning in all your box tops! Please add your teacher's name to your sheet or bag so that they will be included in your classroom total. The room turning in the most box tops will earn a special treat! Box tops to be included in this collection must be turned in by Monday, February 26th.
Box Tops for Education earns $$$ for our classrooms, so let's have some fun while we earn! Happy clipping!
Special Disbursement Requests 2017-2018
The deadline for Special Disbursement requests is next Wednesday, January 31st. What's a Special Disbursement request? It's a way for parents, teachers, staff, anyone at Richards, to request funding from the PTO. To learn more about the process, and to submit a request, visit the PTO website at www.richardspto.org.
