POP-UP SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
- When: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 8am - 6pm (rain date OCTOBER 21)
- Where: On the Richards Blacktop near Great Hall
We are excited to announce that we will be holding a one-day pop-up book fair this year that will look very different due to COVID-19 restrictions. The book fair will be held on Wednesday, October 14, weather permitting, from 8am-6pm, with October 21 as a rain date, on the blacktop in the back of school. This is a fully asynchronous day, so we are hoping that you can stop by with or without your children to get some new books for your family. We are asking that anyone who wishes to attend signs up for a 20-minute slot and includes all people that will be joining them. We will only allow 15 people in for each slot and will be monitoring this closely. You will be asked to check out when your 20 minutes is up. Bookcases will be spread out to allow for social distancing.

***All students are required to attend with an adult, and we will ONLY BE ACCEPTING CREDIT CARDS OR CHECKS to make checkout as easy as possible.*** We are requiring everyone to wear masks and ask that all apply hand sanitizer upon entering the fair. Traffic through the fair will be one-way. Entrance to the fair will be near the Great Hall on Belle Ave. and you will exit on Day Ave. so please understand that you may have to walk a bit to your car.
The Book Fair will still contain lots of great books and you will have the opportunity to pick out a book for the teachers if you wish to do so! Last year our families donated more than 200 books back to the school. We look forward to seeing you on October 14. Let’s hope for a beautiful day! Questions? You’ve Been BOO’D! A long-standing tradition in Whitefish Bay, a Halloween Boo is a little gift or treat left anonymously by a friend or neighbor. Once you’ve been Boo’d, you hang a picture on your front door to let everyone know that you’ve gotten your Halloween surprise. Let the Richards make your Boo Bags for you! Richards PTO will be selling Boo Bags for $5 each, starting October 1st, and will be available for pick up in the Richards Vestibule. An online order form will be available on Membership Toolkit starting October 1st.
The Richards PTO is looking for volunteers! Did you enjoy the drive-thru popsicles last month? Are you looking forward to the Book Fair? You have the PTO to thank for these events! PTO committees and their chairs make up much of the working body of the PTO. The PTO is looking for 3-5 volunteers to help plan socially distant/virtual events for our Richards community throughout the school year.
