Hunger Task Force Dinner – Thank You!
Thank you to all that attended, donated and volunteered at the Friday, February 8th Hunger Task Force Dinner. The Richards PTO and 3rd Graders are thrilled to report that we set a new school record and raised $3094.92 for the Hunger Task Force between the dinner, donations and the PTO's donation. We are so grateful for everyone's generosity surrounding the dinner and hope it continues throughout the food drive. Please remember to donate non-perishable items before the drive ends on March 1st. Great job Richards - the Hunger Task Force will greatly benefit from our $3,094.02 donation!
Hunger Task Force Food Drive – Consider Donating!
Please join the Richards 3rd Graders and PTO in "sharing the love" by bringing as many non-perishable food items to school from February 11th to March 1st. We are running our Valentine's Food Drive through February and hoping to restock the Hunger Task Force after the holidays and cold days. We need your help as Richards is typically one of the largest school donors of food to the Hunger Task Force. Join us in a friendly competition between the Richards classes and bring as many items as possible to school between February 11th and March 1st! If you have any questions, please contact co-chair Allison Wagner at allisonwagner1@gmail.com.
High Interest Day!
We still need a few more volunteers! Calling all parents and community members! Do you have an interesting hobby or occupation that you would like to share with our students? We will be holding High Interest Day on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 24, 2019 and we are looking for parent and community volunteers to present to students in small breakout sessions. Use our on-line submission form on our PTO website to submit your presentation idea. The submission window will be open until February 28th. Visit our website at richardspto.org for more information and to submit your presentation idea. Get creative! We cannot wait to hear your ideas! Questions? Contact Sarah Nowak at sarahzirbelnowak@gmail.com or Jill Fink at thinkjfink@gmail.com.
Order Your Yearbook!
Yearbooks are now on sale! The cost is $15 per yearbook. The deadline for ordering a yearbook is March 7th so order now! New this year: all yearbook ordering will be done online. You can order a yearbook online and pay online via credit card or send in a check. There will NOT be a paper form for ordering. If you choose to pay by check, you will be able to indicate so when ordering online and send a check to school with your child to hand in to their teacher. Please clearly mark an envelope to indicate the check is for yearbook payment. Visit the PTO website to order online. Yearbooks will come home with your child sometime between 5/30/19 - 6/7/19. If purchasing a yearbook presents a financial hardship for your family, a copy will be made available to your child free of charge on behalf of the Richards PTO. Please contact Stephanie Haupt in the Richards Main Office at 414-963-3951. Questions? Please contact, Kristin at richards.yearbook@gmail.com.
Box Tops Fun!
Thank you to the families who are taking time to clip and collect Box Tops for Education! Please continue to turn in your box tops for our upcoming submission, especially large collections, by February 27th. We'll continue our ongoing classroom collection through May, with the winning grade earning a popsicle party at the end of the school year! Don't forget to include your child's name on your sheet or ziploc so we can give credit to their class! Have you seen the poster outside of office by the collection bin? The grade currently leading with highest totals is K4, with 1st close behind. Congratulations! Be watching the poster and listening to announcements for updated leaders.
Fun fact: Did you know that if 700 Richards students clipped just 5 box tops per month, over a ten-month period, they would earn $3,500 for Richards School?! And $7,000 with just 10 box tops! We currently average around $1,500/year. Have you been clipping? Let's have some fun and make a mark this year! Thanks for your efforts in supporting Richards School!
