Fun Lunch Tomorrow, Friday, March 1st!
Fun Lunch tomorrow is being catered by CPK. Each participating student will receive a pizza, mac n cheese, or a salad in addition to carrots, apple sauce, a Rice Krispie Treat or Oreos, and bottled water.
Don’t forget, CPK is continuing to generously offer a free meal to Richards students when they dine-in with their family! Students who participate in the Fun Lunch program will receive a free kid’s meal when their family is dining. A raffle ticket will be given to each dining student for a chance to win an embroidered chef coat! Raffle tickets will be randomly selected and chef coats will be presented at Fun Lunch. Students that wear their chef coat to CPK will be allowed to make their own pizza! Please note: Only students dining with their families will be discounted and an adult entrée must be purchased for every kid’s meal. This offer is not valid with any other offers or discounts (including CPK Rewards Program), and is not valid to groups or sports teams.
Please contact Moria Leonhardt (moleonhardt@wi.rr.com) or Amy Mulcahy (amymulcahy13@yahoo.com) with questions, comments or concerns.
Hunger Task Force Food Drive Ends Tomorrow – Consider Donating!
Please join the Richards 3rd Graders and PTO in "sharing the love" by bringing as many non-perishable food items to school from February 11th until tomorrow, March 1st. We are running our Valentine's Food Drive through February and hoping to restock the Hunger Task Force after the holidays and cold days. We need your help as Richards is typically one of the largest school donors of food to the Hunger Task Force. Join us in a friendly competition between the Richards classes and bring as many items as possible to school between February 11th and March 1st! If you have any questions, please contact co-chair Allison Wagner at allisonwagner1@gmail.com.
High Interest Day – Deadline is TODAY!
You have until the end of the day today to submit your ideas! Calling all parents and community members! Do you have an interesting hobby or occupation that you would like to share with our students? We will be holding High Interest Day on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 24, 2019 and we are looking for parent and community volunteers to present to students in small breakout sessions. Use our on-line submission form on our PTO website to submit your presentation idea. The submission window will be open until February 28th. Visit our website at richardspto.org for more information and to submit your presentation idea. Get creative! We cannot wait to hear your ideas! Questions? Order Your Yearbook!
Have you been racking your brain wondering if you ordered a yearbook at registration earlier this year? We are here to tell you with 100% certainty that you did not! We did not sell yearbooks at registration this year so now is the time to purchase your child’s yearbook! The cost is $15 per yearbook. The deadline for ordering a yearbook is March 7th so order now! New this year: all yearbook ordering will be done online. You can order a yearbook online and pay online via credit card or send in a check. There will NOT be a paper form for ordering. Visit the PTO website to order online. Yearbooks will come home with your child sometime between 5/30/19 - 6/7/19. If purchasing a yearbook presents a financial hardship for your family, a copy will be made available to your child free of charge on behalf of the Richards PTO. Please contact Stephanie Haupt in the Richards Main Office at 414-963-3951. Questions? Please contact, Kristin at richards.yearbook@gmail.com.
Attention 4th and 5th graders: The School for Good and Evil!
On Tuesday, March 12th you will have a wonderful opportunity to meet Soman Chainani, author of the book series 'The School for Good and Evil.' He will be at Richards and will be presenting to the 4th and 5th graders and be available to sign books.
You will have the opportunity to purchase books from the series beforehand if you'd like - a paper book order form went home in last week's Thursday folder. Order forms and payment are due back by March 4th. Visit www.schoolforgoodandevil.com for more information on the book series and the author.
This experience is being brought to you by Boswell Book Company, Richards School and the Cultural Arts Committee of the PTO! Questions? Contact Sarah or Aine at sarahzirbelnowak@gmail.com or ainemcj@me.com.
