Fun Lunch - Friday, October 19th
Fun Lunch tomorrow is being catered by CPK. Each participating student will receive a pizza, mac n cheese, or a salad in addition to carrots, apple sauce, a Rice Krispie Treat or Oreos, and bottled water.
Don’t forget, CPK is continuing to generously offer a free meal to Richards students when they dine-in with their family! Students who participate in the Fun Lunch program will receive a free kid’s meal when their family is dining. A raffle ticket will be given to each dining student for a chance to win an embroidered chef coat! Raffle tickets will be randomly selected and chef coats will be presented at Fun Lunch. Students that wear their chef coat to CPK will be allowed to make their own pizza! Please note: Only students dining with their families will be discounted and an adult entrée must be purchased for every kid’s meal. This offer is not valid with any other offers or discounts (including CPK Rewards Program), and is not valid to groups or sports teams.
Please contact Moria Leonhardt (moleonhardt@wi.rr.com) or Amy Mulcahy (amymulcahy13@yahoo.com) with any questions, comments, or concerns.

First Submission Box Tops Deadline - October 29th!
Thank you so much to all that have already turned in your box top collections, and a reminder to those who have not yet, that our first submission is fast approaching! You can turn in you box top clippings at any time during the school year, but we especially appreciate it during our promoted collection times, as many will expire directly after the scheduled collections. Box tops can be turned in with your students in an envelope or Ziploc or on any new or old collection sheet by Monday, October 29th. If you haven't participated yet, please consider doing so and helping Richards School earn easy, free money! Thank you.
First Lego League, Jr.
Don't forget to sign up if your child is interested and in grades 2-4! First Lego League Jr. is a program designed to introduce STEM concepts to kids ages 6 to 10. Guided by adult coaches, students build models using LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 and create Show Me posters to present what they learned. The program focuses on building interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through a real-world challenge – to be solved by research, critical thinking, and imagination. This program is open to Richards students in grades 2-4. Teams will meet for approximately 10 weeks, beginning in January 2019, culminating in a First Lego League Expo in March. We need parent coaches! Participation in the program is limited, and preference will be given to students with parents who are willing to coach. For more information, or to sign up to be on a team or to be a parent coach, please email Mariya Lazebnik at mariya.lazebnik@gmail.com.
Direct Donation Drive
PTO funding creates an alternate source of financial support for our school. By contributing to the PTO, you are creating a channel of private funding to meet our teachers and student’s needs. All the money the PTO raises goes directly back to Richards, and as part of the PTO, parents get to work with teachers and school administration to say where and how these funds are spent. Haven't had an opportunity to make a donation yet this year? See your Thursday folder for more details, a form, and an easy to use envelope. Thank You!
