The School District of Whitefish Bay believes that the family plays the most crucial role in human growth and development education. The schools support parents/guardians and children in their efforts to develop an understanding of human sexuality and the family.
A Human Growth and Development (HGD) Curriculum has been in place since 1983 as an integral part of the Health Education program for the School District of Whitefish Bay. With input from students, parents, teachers, local clergy, and administrators, we have developed and updated over time, an excellent curriculum that allows your child to participate in age-appropriate subject matter. Beginning with the 2016-2017 school year, the WFB School Board approved that the HGD information in grades 3-5 will be taught by a Medical Provider. The District has hired a licensed school nurse, who worked at Children’s Hospital and has had previous experience offering human growth and development education.
