Letter from the Principal
Welcome! On behalf of our Richards School community, we welcome you! Richards School has an outstanding history with our opening day of school dating back to October of 1928. The Richards School organization has continued to grow and evolve over the past seventy-five years and is a dynamic community with a great team of dedicated teachers and staff, enthusiastic students, and very supportive families.
Approximately 726 students are enrolled in junior kindergarten through fifth grade classes with 4-5 sections of each grade level. The half-day junior kindergarten program includes students who have turned 4 on/before Sept. 1, and five-year-old senior kindergarten provides families with the option of either half-day or full-day programming.
At Richards School, our students also benefit from the services of a wide variety of specialists: vocal and instrumental music; art; library and media services; physical education; French; guidance; computers; and reading and math support. We also provide special education services for students in multiple areas: cognitively disabilities; specific learning disabilities; emotional/behavioral disabilities; speech/language; adaptive physical education; physical therapy; and occupational therapy.
Milestones, a before/after school child care program for children, is also available at Richards School. For more information on this program, contact Milestones at 964-5545.
