Letter from the Principal - Richards School has been providing students with exceptional educational experiences since our October 1928 opening. It is because of the collaborative team work between the administration, teachers, students, parents and community members that are children achieve academic success and form happy memories of school. Our “hands-on” approach to teaching makes learning exciting and fun.
Approximately, 740 students are enrolled in Junior Kindergarten (K4) through Fifth Grade. There are four to five sections in each grade level. The half-day Junior Kindergarten includes children who have turned four on/before September 1st. Our All Day Senior Kindergarten (K5) is for those students who turned five on/before September 1st.
As well as the academic program that is delivered by our dedicated teachers, there are other learning opportunities that enrich and enhance our curriculum. Vocal and instrumental music, art, physical education, guidance and library are made available for all Richards students. French instruction begins in First Grade. Believing that all children are unique learners, Richards provides support for our accelerated learners with our Beyond Program. Services such as special education and math/reading support are available for challenged learners who meet criteria.
An independent before/after school child care program, Milestones, is also on site at Richards School. For more information on this program, contact Milestones at 964-5545.
If you have additional questions or are interested in a tour of Richards School, please call our school office at 414-963-3951.
