District COVID-19 Updates
Whitefish Bay School District will publish regular status updates of active student and staff cases and those in quarantine due to exposure or presentation of COVID-19 like symptoms. This information is provided in an effort to be transparent with the level of virus activity within the District. Please note that information relative to any individual’s health is HIPPA protected, and private, so we are taking steps to secure the anonymity of individuals. In any school in which the number is <5 we will post an ** to avoid the likelihood of exposing the identity of an individual.

Please Note - A great majority of the dashboard activity is a result from community cases over the winter break. District communications have not been sent to District families for such cases.
Guide to Weekly Case Metrics
Active Cases: This term refers to individuals with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis who are not considered recovered. This would apply to any individual who has not completed the required quarantine period.
Quarantine: This term refers to individuals who are placed in quarantine due to a known close contact exposure to an individual confirmed to have COVID-19 or due to the presentation of symptoms consistent with the virus.
Close Contact: Close contact is defined as being within six feet of someone who tested positive for COVID-19 for at least fifteen cumulative minutes over a 24-hour period, or having any physical contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 (handshake, hug, etc.)

Instruction Model: Blended AA/BB Model, with a virtual option
At the January 13 Board Meeting, the School Board approved a plan to phase-in to full in person learning while maintaining the virtual option for Cumberland and Richards Elementary Schools. Families will have until Monday, January 18th to decide if they will be part of the in person phase-in plan, or if they will be fully virtual for Quarter 3. The Board also approved the Middle School and High School beginning Quarter 3 in the AA/BB Blended Model, with a virtual option. At the Regular School Board Meeting on February 10, 2021 the School Board will be discussing the phase-in plan proposals for the Middle and High Schools. Elementary Phase-In Plan - Quarter three Begins January 26th, and the elementary phase-in plan is scheduled to begin February 1st.

Reduced Quarantine Period for Non-Household Close Contacts
The North Shore Health Department ( has updated quarantine guidelines for close contacts of someone diagnosed with COVID-19. Based on these new guidelines, and with guidance from the Ad Hoc Community Health Advisory Committee, the District has updated our quarantine protocol
