It is with great pleasure and excitement that I have become a member of the Whitefish Bay School District Administrative Team. I am honored to be chosen as your Associate Principal at both Cumberland and Richards Elementary Schools. Words cannot express how much I am looking forward to working with Dr. Alix Kasmarick and Ms. Jayne Heffron as well as the staff, students and families in each elementary school building. A little about me, I am going into my ninth year in education and my fourth year as a School Administrator. Prior to going into education, I was a Television News Reporter for an ABC affiliate. This experience helped land me a Marketing Director position for a Consulting Company in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Education has always been a passion and priority and is why, in 2009, I decided to return to school for teaching receiving a Post-Baccalaureate teaching certification: birth through the age of twelve. In 2014, I graduated from Cardinal Stritch University with a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning, focusing on instructional best practices. Two years later, my passion and dedication for education allowed me to receive a Master of Science in Educational Leadership obtaining the Principal and Director of Curriculum and Instruction licensures. Throughout my time in education, I have gained experience as a Four-Year Old Kindergarten Teacher, an Interventionist for students with gifts and talents and as an Instructional Coach for mathematics instruction. During the Summer, I am fortunate to be a Facilitator for the Mathematics Institute of Wisconsin, working with teachers, teacher leaders and instructional leaders, throughout the state of Wisconsin. We work together to further deepen our understanding of the Wisconsin Standards of Mathematics and how we can further support our students in developing their procedural skills and fluency, conceptual understanding and application in mathematics. As an Educator and Administrator, I aspire to reach the whole child by supporting a community focused on academic, character and social/emotional growth for all. This can be accomplished by working as a collaborative team advocating for all through listening to the needs of the students, staff and community as well as communicating and encouraging a professional learning community built on respect, trust, cooperation and collaboration. I began working in Whitefish Bay as of July 1st and am looking forward to meeting each of you very soon! Please feel free to stop in and say ‘hi’. My door is always open and want to make sure we can work together to help all of our students succeed in their educational journey. I look forward to a great 2019-2020 school year with all of you! |
