We are thrilled to be able to offer field trip experiences once again.  Our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders had the opportunity to attend the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra at the Bradley Symphony Center yesterday.  Students were filled with excitement as they boarded the buses ready to expand their horizons and share a culturally-enriching experience.

Open House Tonight: We are delighted to invite you in for Open House tonight, February 9th. Students look forward to this time every year because it provides them an opportunity to give their families a tour of the school, including their classrooms and to share their learning.   To help accommodate all of our families, we are asking families to come on the following schedule when possible. We hope to see you there!

Lost and Found: While you are here tonight, take a look at the tables in the main entry. There are some lovely items there waiting to be claimed.

Welcome: We welcome Mary Becker-Roth who has joined our Cumberland clinic.  Ms. Becker-Roth’s education and experience in the medical field of pediatrics is a great addition to our Cumberland team. We are so glad you have joined us!

Making a Splash with Kindness: This week we began our Make a Splash with Kindness initiative by recognizing and acknowledging “quacks”of kindness around our school. Every classroom earns a duck sticker each time they are caught spreading kindness and the goal is for every classroom to earn 100 ducks by February 17th.   We want to thank our student council for choosing to build upon this valuable and impactful work and spreading the spirit of kindness throughout our school.  Make sure to check out all of our “Quacks of Kindness” student council posters and classroom duck ponds hung around the school during your Open House visit.

Cumberland News and Notes: 

“Riddle Me This!” Cumberland’s 2nd and 3rd Grade Level Concerts will be held on Thursday, February 23rd.  

2023-2024 Information for Registration/Enrollment:  Proof of residency submitted online and verification of your child’s original birth certificate must be presented at the school office. Please let the office know if your child[ren] will not return to Cumberland in the fall.

National Reading Month:  We will be kicking off an All-School Read on Wednesday, March 1st! We can’t wait to celebrate National Reading Month with all of our Cumberland families! More details in the coming weeks.

Dining In at California Pizza Kitchen: CPK is continuing to generously offer a FREE kid’s meal to Cumberland students when they dine-in (no take out) with their family. Students who participate in the Fun lunch program will receive a free kid’s meal when their family is dining in. Please note: only students dining with their family will be discounted and an adult entree must be purchased for every kid's meal. This offer is not valid with any other offers or discounts (including CPK rewards program) and is not available to groups or sports teams.

Bay Gives Back Little Laundry Libraries: Book Collection from February 13-24th at WFB High School vestibule.

Recreation Department:

Free Throw Contest: See if you have what it takes to be the Free Throw Champion of your grade level.  Available to all Whitefish Bay Community Residents in Grades 3 through 8.  Winners of each grade level will move on to compete at regionals and possibly state.
