From the PTO
Yearbooks: Yearbooks were distributed this week for those who ordered during the order period from February-April this year. If you forgot to order or decided you would now like a yearbook, you may do so by contacting VIP Photography in Cedarburg at 262-375-4457. Let them know you would like to order a yearbook for Richards Elementary and they can ship one to you!
Room Parent Sign Up Open: Are you looking to become more involved at Richards next year? Consider being a Room Parent! The main responsibilities may include providing communication from the PTO to classroom families via Membership Toolkit, coordinating teacher gifts on behalf of the classroom, and assisting the teacher as needed. Sign up is available now by clicking here. Questions? Contact Abby Williams at acdwilliams@mac.com
School Supply Drive: The Richards PTO will be hosting a school supply drive on the last two weeks of school in which students and teachers can donate any left over (new or partially used) pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, glue, glue sticks, and post it notes to underserved charter schools within the Milwaukee area. Each floor will have a bin where items can be donated. Please reach out to Maggie Aschenbrener at maschenbrener1@gmail.com with any questions you may have. Thank you!
The Green Team: Thank you for all of the support this year recycling applesauce pouches and dental products. Richards School Community has diverted 172 pounds of toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss containers and applesauce pouches from the landfill. These items are typically not recycled through your local WM company, so we have partnered with Terracycle in order to do this. The dental program recycling containers are in the front vestibule. Please continue to recycle these items throughout summer.
Have you Donated to the PTO Direct Donations Fund this year? We’re still a little behind on our annual Direct Donations Fund, which was budgeted to receive $12,000. Can we raise another $1,000? See below for information on what your money goes towards. Note that this fund is different from the Membership fund ($20 per family) that is typically paid at the beginning of the school year.
