The Richards PTO Staff Appreciation Week: The Richards PTO Staff Appreciation Week Committee would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the Richards Families who generously donated to Staff Appreciation Week. With your donations, and the support of the PTO and local businesses, we were able to shower our wonderful teachers, staff, and crossing guards with surprises all week long! Some highlights included lunches catered by Jimmy Johns, Jet's Pizza, Corner Bakery and California Pizza Kitchen; delicious pretzels from Milwaukee Pretzel Company, and sweet treats from Insomnia Cookies and Dunkin' Donuts. We also decorated the bulletin board with the artwork your children completed … check out the PTO social media pages for photos! A lot of excitement came with the daily sweepstakes as well! With your generous donations we were able to hand out 25 baskets filled with great gifts! This was all made possible with donations from families and local businesses – thank you!
Scholastic Book Fair: The Scholastic Book Fair returns on May 17 for one day only! We will be open in the Great Hall from 3-8pm! The fair will feature great titles to interest all ages! Richards Spirit Wear will also be available from 5-7pm. It will be your last chance to grab spirit wear for the year! We hope to see you there. We do need a few volunteers to make this event work. Spirit’s Soiree! Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 17 for a fun night at Richards Elementary School! The Richards PTO invites all families to join us in welcoming the incoming K4 students in the Richards Gym for Spirit’s Soiree from 5-7pm. All are welcome to enjoy dancing to a DJ, snack on cookies and refreshments, and even a special appearance by Spirit the Tiger! Stop by the Great Hall for the Book Fair and Spirit Wear Sale! Save the Date: Richards PTO Family Movie Night returns! We will be showing The Jungle Book on the evening of June 2nd. This is a family event; children must be accompanied by an adult. Please watch for details in upcoming communications.
Donuts with Grown-Ups: All students are invited to bring a special grownup to join them for a donut before school on June 2nd starting at 7:15am. Beverages and donuts will be served in the Great Hall; GF and Nut-Free options will be available.
From the Green Team: Thank you to the Fifth Grade Student Council Green Team and to all those that participated in the Terracycle dental care recycling drive. All together the school collected over 1,300 items to be recycled! Please remember that this is an ongoing program that is available to all Richards families year round. The collection bins are in the front vestibule (to your left when you walk in). Items accepted are: toothbrushes, empty toothpaste tubes/caps, empty floss containers and any plastic packaging from those items (dental/floss picks are not accepted).
