Mrs. Wilhelm’s class made board games based on their literature discussion group (LDG) books to play with their buddies from Mrs. Schaapveld’s class!
Announcements (repeat):
Our top priority is the safety of your children. To that end, we are responsible for controlling the flow of visitors into school. You may have noticed that Stephanie and Chris in our main office ask, “How may we help you?” when you buzz at the main office during school hours prior to letting you into the office. This step may seem redundant if you are a frequent visitor, however this step was instituted to maximize conditions for safety within the schools. If your visit requires you to go beyond the main office, we will ask for your driver’s license so we can register you with our visitor management system. Thank you ahead of time for your understanding of the many steps we take to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Lost and Found: With the cold mornings and warm afternoons during this time of year, our Lost and Found grows! Please remember to label all coats, jackets, and other winter gear you send your child with when they come to school. The Lost and Found is on display in the main lobby through Parent-Teacher Conferences this evening, March 23. All unclaimed items will be donated to charity.
General Music Concerts: We look forward to our 5-Year-Old Kindergarten and First Grade music concerts scheduled for Wednesday, April 12th at 5:30pm (5K) and 6:15pm (First Grade). Specifics regarding arrival time and dress will be coming soon. Mark your calendars!

Planning for 2023-24: An important element for our spring work is to create tentative class groupings for next year. Our goal when creating class groupings is to put together classes in each grade that are representative of our school population as a whole. This means classes balanced in numbers of students, gender, learning and social emotional needs, supports, and with academic peers for students. The initial work is done at each grade level with significant input and review by the counselor, school psychologist, literacy/math coaches, encore teachers, and administrators. The tentative groupings change throughout the summer as students depart and enroll.
This link takes you to the Optional Input Form. This form can be used to provide us with any information that you feel will be helpful in the class placement process for your student for the 2023-24 school year. Please note that requests for specific teachers will not be honored. All classroom placements are carefully considered whether this form is submitted or not. The form will be available online through April 7, 2023.
Another important part of our planning for next year is to project as accurately as possible our student enrollments. Please notify the Richards office if your child will not be returning to Richards next year. (Stephanie.Haupt@wfbschools.com) Thank you!
