Welcome to the Whitefish Bay Recreation and Community Education Department
Mission: The Whitefish Bay School District, through the Recreation and Community Education Department, is committed to improving the quality of life. This is achieved by providing a wide variety of quality recreational, educational, cultural and social programs and services for all resident and students of Whitefish Bay.

Winter/Spring Program Updates
- Due to the COVID-19, all of our Senior 3F Luncheons, Day Trips, and the Senior Coffee Klatch have been suspended until it is safe to bring our seniors back together. However, we are offering new Senior Grab 'N Go Drive Thru Dining and Virtual Educational Seminars.
- Middle School Ski Club is happening, however, no bus transportation is provided.
- Connects Care at both Richards and Cumberland Elementary Schools have expanded their care offerings based off of the new In-person, Phase-In plan for Quarter 3.
- The Community Fitness Center is open, however, due to low enrollment no AM times are available.
- Summer Teen Counselor-in Training and Bay Volunteer applications are currently being accepted for 2021.
- Lydell Preschool is hosting a Virtual Open House on January 26th for families interested in enrolling in the 2020-2021 school year.

Lydell Community Center Visitor/Program Participant Guidelines:
- All visitors, staff and participants 4 years old and up are required to wear cloth face coverings when in district buildings and sanitize their hands at the indoor wall unit located to the left of the interior Door #2 once inside.
- Visitors must enter through Door #2 (off the playground) and exit at Door #3. There will be signage posted to help guide traffic flow.
- Entrance doors will remain locked during our office hours and visitors must buzz in for entry. Only 2-3 visitors will be allowed in at a time.
- Class participants must go directly to their assigned classroom.
- Those visiting our front office will follow the foot markings upon entry to maintain a safe social distance.
- Our front desk glass will remain closed. Please wait for our staff to approach you at the window.
- Spectators or parents waiting for children to complete a class will not be allowed in our building. All parents and spectators will need to wait outside or in their vehicles.
Staff, Program and Participant COVID-19 mitigation protocol have been developed and are available for review on our "Program Guides and Forms" tab. The Connects and Lydell Preschool programs have developed more detailed mitigation plans specific to the nature of their design and these can be found on their individual program tabs on this website. These protocols are dynamic and can change quickly based on recommendations from Norhshore Health Department. Please check our tabs frequently for the most up-to-date mitigation information.
The effects of COVID-19 have created a very fluid situation for most of us. Please watch our Facebook site and web page at www.wfbschools.com for continued updates. We are committed to continue to serve our Whitefish Bay community through this new landscape. We are still here and offering programs for all ages in the safest ways possible.
