This is the test battery of the American College Testing Program, given at test centers in the United States on specified dates throughout the year. The ACT is designed to assess high school students’ general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. The test covers four skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. The composite score is the average of a student’s scores on these tests. Students can choose to take the ACT National test with or without the science section. Also, an optional writing test is available and some schools require it, so be sure to check the post-secondary school’s website to find out for sure. This score is reported separately.
*Note: If you're applying for testing accommodations, please work in conjunction with your school counselor because the process begins with the parent/student registration, followed by the counselor requesting for accommodations through the ACT high school portal.
It is the student’s responsibility to send scores to post-secondary schools and this can be done by going directly to the website:

PSAT/NMSQT (preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test)
The PSAT/NMSQT is a shorter version of the SAT administered by high schools each year in October. This preliminary test measures critical reading, verbal reasoning, math problem-solving skills, and writing skills. It also aids high schools in the early guidance of students for planning for college and serves as the qualifying test for scholarships awarded by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. This test is geared for junior students.
Pre-ACT (preliminary ACT tests)
PreACT® assessments (offered to 9th and 10th graders) allows for an early experience with ACT test items, provides a predicted ACT test score, and offers a wealth of information to help students get the start they need to be college ready. Anchored on the ACT College and Career Readiness Standards, PreACT assessments help educators, students, and parents identify areas of academic strength and opportunity.
