District Announcements
COVID-19 Data Metric Dashboard: In an effort of transparency and communication with our staff and families, the District has created a COVID-19 data metric dashboard and weekly District update letter. Each week the District will publish a status update of active cases and those in quarantine due to exposure or presentation of COVID-19 like symptoms. Please note that information relative to any individual’s health is HIPPA protected and private, so we are taking steps to secure the anonymity of individuals. Student numbers will be published at a school level and for the district as a whole. In any school in which the number is <5 we will post an ** to avoid the likelihood of exposing the identity of an individual. We will provide a summary number for the district as a whole.
The dashboard on the COVID-19 website page and the Weekly Metrics Reports show the current week's data. All letters will be located on the Communications to Families page. It is our goal to update the dashboard and letter at the beginning of each week.
SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT (SUSO) Resource Center: The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of School Safety (OSS) recently launched the SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT (SUSO) Resource Center. The SUSO threat reporting system aims to empower students to share their concerns safely and confidentially. The District has had, and continues to have a process in place for reporting potential bullying and harassment, which will continue to be used. The SUSO reporting system offers an additional reporting resource to our students and families. Please find more information linked below.

Seemingly out of nowhere, Covid 19 traveled to our shores and changed our lives nearly completely. For the past several months, our work and home lives have been altered due to the pandemic. Children have had to change the way they learn and socialize and much of what we’ve grown used to doing (and enjoyed doing) day to day has been temporarily suspended.
Is this exacting a psychological toll on us and our children? For many, the answer is yes. And, if it’s impact hasn’t been felt yet, it could surface later. Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Michael Mazius, will discuss preliminary research on the Coronavirus’ impact on our and our children’s mental health and the important role of Positive Psychology practices in the days (and months) ahead. Following Dr. Mazius’ presentation, time will be set aside for Q and A. Please join us for the first of several conversations sure to come regarding these new, strange and challenging times.
Dr. Mazius’ presentation will be done virtually through Zoom. If you would like to attend, please register here. A confirmation email from Justin Nies through no-reply@zoom.us will be sent to you confirming your registration for the November 17th, 2020 event with Dr. Michael Mazius. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Associate Principal Justin Nies at justin.nies@wfbschools.com. We hope to see you join us on November 17th!
